Sales of Butter in the World Increased
According to BusinesStat estimates, in 2006-2010, the production of butter in the world increased by 14% and amounted to 10 million tons in 2010. In 2006-2010, the annual growth of production equaled average to 4%. India is the leading producer of butter in the world. During 2006-2010 the production of butter in India was constantly increasing.
In 2006-2010, the volume of import of butter declined by 21%. The leading importers of butter in the world are France, Russia and Germany. Unlike the import of butter the volume of export went up and amounted to nearly 2 million tons in 2010. New Zealand, Netherlands and Belgium are the leading exporters of butter in the world.
In 2006-2010, the sales of butter in the world increased by 13.2%. During these five years the highest sales volume was registered in India. The share of India in total sales of butter fluctuated from 34.5% in 2006 and 39.4% in 2010.
