Gas Condensate is Extracted Mainly on the Territory of Russia
Gas condensate is extracted mainly on the territory of Russia and some amount of it is imported from Kazakhstan. As a rule, gas condensate is stabilized at gas condensate processing plants.
Supply of gas condensate in Russia influences its production. According to BusinesStat estimates, in 2007-2008 production of stable gas condensate in Russia grew up from 10.2 to 10.5 million tons. In 2009, production declined by 7.6%. In 2010-2011, production of stable gas condensate was increasing and it reached 10.9 million tons at the end of the period.
Major producers of stable gas condensate in Russia in 2011 were the Tyumen region – 47%; Astrakhan region – 28%; Orenburg region – 19%. The aggregate volume of production of stable gas condensate by these regions totaled 10.2 million tons in 2011.
