Average Price for Vinegar in Russia Went Up
In 2006-2008, the sales volume of vinegar in Russia went up by 14.4 %. Extension of the assortment and increase in the vinegar consumption as dressing for salads and other dishes encouraged the market growth. In 2009, the sales of vinegar in Russia dropped to 25 thousand tons. In 2010, according to BusinesStat estimates, the vinegar sales rose and amounted to almost 26 thousand tons.
The vinegar market turnover outstrips the market growth rate in volume terms greatly. In 2010, the vinegar market turnover went up by 8.9%, i.e. up to 1.7 billion rubles. Increase in revenues is primarily connected with the price rise for vinegar. In 2006-2010, the average price for vinegar in Russia went up by 32.9 %.
As vinegar is not consumed in quantity, the prices for this product remain acceptable for the Russian people. In the foreseeable future the vinegar market is expected to show positive dynamics both in value terms and volume terms.
