Supply of Animal and Fish Fat in Russia is Steadily Growing
According to BusinesStat estimates, during 2006-2010 demand for animal fat and fish fat in Russia was increasing, and by 2010 it had reached 302.1 thousand tons. The market showed drop in sales only in 2007, and it equaled 17.5%. However, next year the market growth compensated this decline, and the sales volume exceeded the rate of 2006. In 2006-2010, the growth rate slowed down significantly to 0.5-0.9% that identified the foregoing stagnation of the market.
Supply of animal and fish fat in Russia is steadily growing following demand. Only in 2007 the market showed decrease by 17.3%, compared to the previous year. In 2008, the maximal growth rate of animal and fish fat supply in the Russian market was registered, it amounted to almost 30%. Russian needs in animal and fish fat is met mostly by the imported produce. Import accounted for the maximal share of the animal fat supply on the Russian market, and on the average it amounted to 84-89% of the total supply volume.
