Demand for Washing Machines Will Increase at a Slow Pace

During the period from 2005 to 2009 the total number of washing machines in Russian households increased from 32.8 million units to 34.8 million units. In 2014 the number of washing machines in the country will remain on the level of 2009.

During the period from 2005 to 2008 the supply of washing machines in the Russian market was sustained generally by import. In 2009 domestic production began to exceed the volume import. This tendency is expected to keep ground in 2010-2014 as well.

The volume of demand for washing machines in Russia reduced from 6 million units in 2007 to 4.1 million units in 2009. According to BusinesStat estimates,  in 2010-2014 the demand will increase at a slow pace and will amount 5 million units in 2014.
