Average Retail Price for Dishwashers Rose

During the period from 2005 to 2009 the number of households in Russia that use dish-washers grew up by 1.47 million units. It can be accounted for by the fact that the dishwasher is a rare household device, the popularity of which is gradually increasing. The share of dish-washer users rose from 2.1% in 2005 to 5.2% in 2009. In 2010-2014 the number of users will continue growing.

The volume of demand dropped to the minimum in 2005, when it equaled 149 million units, and was the highest in 2008, when it totaled 404 million units. Average volume of demand for dish-washers in 2005-2009 was 288.2 million units. By 2005 the volume of demand will have reached the sum of 420.9 million units. During the period from 2005 to 2008 the cost volume of the dish-washer market became more than 3 times bigger – it increased from 1.85 billion roubles to 5.46 billion roubles.

From 2005 to 2009 the average retail price for dish-washers rose by 26.2%. In 2010-2014, according to BusinesStat estimates, increase by 21.7% (from 16.11 thousand roubles per unit to 19.61 thousand roubles per unit)will be registered.

Import has the greatest input into the supply of dish-washers in the Russian market. In 2009 the import share made up 87.3% of the total supply volume.

In Russia only one company is producing dish-washers – it is Rada CJSC.
