According to BusinesStat, during the period from 2005 to 2009 the total number of household water heaters in Russian households increased from 21.69 million units to 23.71 million units. By 2014 this number will have reached the point of 25.29 million units.

In 2005-2009 supply of water heaters in the Russia market was formed generally by the import. In 2010-2012, according to forecasts of BusinesStat, the supply of water heaters will grow down, equaling 4.32 million units in 2012. The future decrease will be caused by the reduction of import due to the necessity to sell the in-stock goods that have been piled up in warehouses in 2008-2009. In 2013-2014 the volume of supply will begin growing again, totaling 4.63 million units in 2014.

From 2005 to 2009 the volume of demand for water heaters in Russia increased by 23.3%. In 2010-2014 it will continue growing and will have reached the total of 3.81 million units by 2014.

In 2006-2010, according to BusinesStat estimates, the number of households, using gas boilers increased by 25.9%, i.e. from 6.13 million households to 7.72 million households. In 2011-2015, the number of households, using gas boilers, will continue to rise. It is connected with the increasing number of primary equipment installations due to the development of the individual housing construction.

In 2006-2010, the volume of imported gas boilers in Russia significantly exceeded the domestic production volume. In 2006-2009, the share of imported produce of the supply volume accounted for 58.5-69.0%. In 2010, the share of imported gas boilers of the supply volume in the domestic market reached its ceiling, and amounted to 70.9%.  In the following years this tendency will not change. Despite the gradual increase the domestic production will not supply the rising demand. In 2011-2015, import of gas boilers into Russia will go up from 0.8 million units to 1.0 million units.

The leading country-importers of gas boilers in the Russian market are Germany, Italy, South Korea, Ukraine and Czech Republic.
