Supply of Monitors Went Up
In 2006-2010, the total number of monitors in Russia went up from 49.0 million units to 64.8 million units. In 2006-2009, the sharpest increase was registered, it was determined by the shift from the CRT Monitors to TFT Monitors due to the fall in prices for the latter.
In 2006-2008, supply of monitors showed positive dynamics, though in 2009 it decreased by 32.5%. The cause of decline was the economic crisis, which made the population buy only the basic consumer goods. In 2010, supply of monitors went up by 1.2% and amounted to 8.2 million units.
According to BusinesStat analysis, imported produce contributes greatly to the monitor supply in the Russian market. In this period the domestic production went up to 6%. Although, the growing domestic production cannot satisfy the population demand.
