Turnover of the Market of Vitamin Preparations in Russia Went Up.
In 2006-2010, according to BusinesStat estimates, the turnover of the market of vitamin preparations in Russia went up by 22%, i.e. from 6.8 billion rubles to 8.3 billion rubles. The value of sales grew at a pace, outstripping the growth of the market in volume terms. The outstripping was conditioned by the fast rise in the prices for vitamin preparations. In 2006-2010, the average price for 1 package increased by 15%, i.e. from 29 rubles to 33 rubles.
In 2010, sales of vitamin preparations rose by 4.3% and reached 250.3 million packages. In 2011-2015, sales will grow by 17%, i.e. from 261.4 million packages to 304.6 million packages. Sales of vitamin preparations increase due to the high demand. It is explained, in particular, by the fashion for the healthy lifestyle. Besides, the assortment of vitamins is widening fast, i.e. many highly specialized preparations appear.
Currently, the Russian market of vitamin preparations is composed mainly by the domestic production. In 2010, the volume of supply consisted of 265 million packages of Russian goods and 26.4 million packages of imported ones.
