Production of the Diagnostic Reagents Went Down

In 2006-2010, according to Businesstat estimates, cost volume of the Russian market of diagnostic reagent increased by 80%, i.e. from 786 up to 1416 billion rubles. Increase in cost volume of sales of diagnostic reagents was outstripping the market growth in physical terms. The outstripping was conditioned by the price boom for diagnostic reagents: from 2006 to 2010 the average price for 1 package of diagnostic reagents went up by 41%, i.e. from 941 to 1329 rubles.

In 2010, the sales of diagnostic reagents went up by 12.1% and reached 1065 million packages. In 2011-2015, the sales of diagnostic reagents will rise by 34%, i.e. from 1201 up to 1065 million packages. The sales volume of diagnostic reagents is increasing due to the high demand. The main reason of the reagent market growth is rapid expansion of the health care market and the diagnostic segment.

In 2010, production of the diagnostic reagent went down by 8.5% and amounted to 904 million packages. In 2011-2015, the production volume of diagnostic reagents in Russia is expected to drop by 8.5% and equaled 904 million packages. The main reasons of the foregoing decrease will be depreciation of the capital funds, low level of process automation and foreign competition.
