The Sales of Aggregates in Russia will Increase

Such aggregates, as road metal and mortar sand are the essential part of any building process today.  The building techniques, using these aggregates, assure life of the structure, structural safety and feasibility of the construction project.

The Russian aggregates market is greatly dependant on the construction situation in the country. In 2006-2008, the sales of aggregates increased by 27.8% and amounted to 409.5 million cubic meters. In 2009, all the market parameters went down dramatically. It was caused by the building freeze during the economic crisis. That year, decrease in demand was registered in the sphere of major construction works and in the sphere of road building as well: the sales went down by 23.9% in volume terms and by 24.3% in value terms.

In 2010, demand for aggregates began to go up gradually. In 2011, according to BusinesStat estimates, the sales of aggregates will increase to 329.5 million cubic meters. In the long view the sales growth will continue, though the pre-crisis level will be reached only in 2015.
